KSI Residential Electric · Effective Date: January 1, 2025 · Last Updated: April 28, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our services. By contacting KSI Residential Electric, requesting a quote, scheduling an appointment, or allowing our technicians onto your property, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the relationship between KSI Residential Electric ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") and any individual or entity ("Customer," "you," or "your") who requests, schedules, or receives electrical services from us.
By engaging our services in any capacity — including by phone, email, online form, or in person — you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not engage our services.
Scope of Services
KSI Residential Electric provides licensed residential electrical services, which may include but are not limited to:
- Electrical panel upgrades and replacements
- Wiring, rewiring, and circuit installation
- Outlet, switch, and fixture installation or repair
- GFCI and AFCI breaker installation
- Lighting design and installation (indoor and outdoor)
- Ceiling fan, exhaust fan, and attic fan installation
- Generator hookups and transfer switch installation
- EV charger installation
- Code compliance upgrades and inspections
- Troubleshooting and emergency electrical repair
All services are performed in accordance with applicable local, state, and national electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). We reserve the right to decline or discontinue any job that presents safety concerns or falls outside our licensed scope of work.
Estimates, Quotes & Pricing
Estimates provided by KSI Residential Electric are based on information available at the time of assessment. Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
Final pricing may differ from initial estimates if:
- The scope of work changes at the Customer's request
- Unforeseen conditions are discovered during the work (e.g., outdated wiring, hidden damage, code violations)
- Additional materials or labor are required to complete the job safely
- Permit fees or inspection costs are applicable
We will notify you of any material cost changes before proceeding. Verbal estimates are not binding. All estimates must be confirmed in writing to be considered final.
Scheduling & Appointments
Appointments are scheduled based on technician availability. We will make every reasonable effort to arrive within the agreed time window. Arrival times may be affected by prior jobs, traffic, or emergencies.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in a service call fee or refusal of future bookings.
For emergency electrical services, response times are estimated but not guaranteed, as they depend on technician availability and other outstanding calls.
Customer Responsibilities
To allow us to complete work safely and efficiently, you agree to:
- Provide safe and unobstructed access to the work area, electrical panel, and relevant parts of the property
- Disclose known hazards, including the presence of asbestos, lead paint, mold, or other dangerous materials
- Ensure an adult (18+) is present during all service visits
- Keep children and pets away from active work areas
- Provide accurate information about the property's electrical system and history
- Obtain any necessary HOA or landlord approvals prior to work commencing
Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in delays, additional charges, or suspension of service.
Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of services unless a separate payment arrangement has been agreed upon in writing. We accept cash, check, and major credit/debit cards. Financing options, if available, will be outlined in a separate agreement.
For larger projects, we may require a deposit of up to 50% of the total estimated cost before work begins, with the balance due upon project completion.
Invoices not paid within 30 days of the due date are subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. KSI Residential Electric reserves the right to file a mechanic's lien on the property for unpaid services where permitted by law.
Permits & Code Compliance
Certain electrical work requires permits and inspections from local authorities. We will advise you when a permit is required and can pull permits on your behalf. Permit fees are the responsibility of the Customer and will be added to your invoice unless otherwise agreed.
Work will be performed in compliance with all applicable codes. If existing conditions on your property are found to be out of code, we are required by law to bring those conditions to your attention and may be obligated to correct them as part of the job. We will not perform work that knowingly violates local or national electrical codes.
Workmanship Warranty
KSI Residential Electric warrants all labor and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of service completion. This warranty covers defects in our installation or workmanship only.
This warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or unauthorized modifications
- Damage caused by power surges, acts of nature, or events outside our control
- Manufacturer defects in materials or equipment (covered by manufacturer warranty)
- Pre-existing conditions or issues unrelated to our work
- Work performed by third parties after our service is complete
To make a warranty claim, contact us in writing within the warranty period. We will inspect the issue and, if covered, repair or re-perform the work at no additional cost.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, KSI Residential Electric's total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of data, loss of profits, or property damage not directly caused by our negligence.
We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, latent defects, or damage caused by factors outside our control, including but not limited to flooding, fire, or power company issues.
Licensing & Insurance
KSI Residential Electric is a fully licensed and insured electrical contractor. We carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage in accordance with state requirements.
Proof of licensing and insurance is available upon request. We strongly recommend that Customers verify licensing for any electrical contractor they hire, including us.
Safety & Right to Stop WorkThe safety of our technicians, your household, and your property is our top priority. KSI Residential Electric reserves the right to stop work immediately and without penalty if:
- Unsafe conditions are discovered that were not disclosed prior to work beginning
- Continuing the work would pose a risk to persons or property
- The Customer or others on-site behave in a threatening or aggressive manner toward our staff
- Proceeding would require violating applicable codes or safety standards
In such cases, you will be charged for any work completed to that point, and we will work with you to resolve the issue before resuming.
Dispute Resolution
We are committed to resolving any disputes promptly and fairly. If you have a concern about our services, please contact us directly so we can address it.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties agree to submit to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). Arbitration shall take place in the county where services were performed. Each party shall bear its own legal fees unless otherwise determined by the arbitrator.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which services were performed, without regard to conflict of law principles.
